INFOSAN Emergency Alert: RECALL OF IRISH PORK AND BACON PRODUCTS
INFOSAN has emregencey alert on RECALL OF IRISH PORK AND BACON PRODUCTS. It is reported that
On December 06th, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) recalled all pork products produced from pigs slaughtered in Ireland since 1 September 2008, due to the presence of dioxin in animal feed and pork samples. Therefore all pork products from pigs slaughtered in Ireland are recalled.
The FSAI has reported exports of potentially contaminated products to the following countries: Belgium, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR China, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom and The United States.
WHO is assisting the process of information sharing in order to assess the extend of export of Irish pork products and their distribution in other markets.
